All exams are assessed on the basis of the performance given on the day of the exam, without regard to any external circumstances. If a candidate does not comply with exam regulations as detailed in the appropriate syllabus, the performance will be heard without prejudice by the examiner in order not to jeopardise the performance of other aspects of the exam.
Trinity’s graded music exams are assessed by external examiners trained and moderated by Trinity. Examiners provide marks and comments using the assessment criteria on pages 19–24 and 32–33. The exams are marked out of 100.
Apr 24, 2024 · Face-to-face exams. Exam Preparation. For face-to-face exams, you will firstly need to decide your instrument, syllabus (Classical and Jazz or Rock and Pop) and grade. Diploma exams will undertake a recital and written programme, following the Music Performance Diplomas Syllabus. Rock and Pop exams follow the relevant Rock and Pop syllabus.
