Dragons in Dragon City are sorted into 'categories'. Basically, instead of individual stats for each dragon, they have a few different stat combinations. Dragons of a higher category are usually stronger. For example, Legendaries are Cat 5 to 9. Cat 5 has more health, while Cat 9 has more attack.
In this page you can find all dragons in the game. Name. Type. Filters only work when you visit Dragons/All. Terra Dragon. Flame Dragon. Volcano Dragon. Flaming Rock Dragon.
There are currently 2041 dragons in Dragon City. New dragons are added all of the time. Usually new dragons can be earnt in events as rewards. Heroic Dragons are the strongest dragons, but hard to obtain. Legendary Dragons are also pretty good in battle.

Dragon City Breeding and Hatching List by DragonTamerXD. ~The dragons listed below are in the order they were specified in the game. If you found any errors or would like to improve the content, please add a comment. (Please do not get confused about the breeding time and hatching time.)
It seems to me that one of the most important factors (besides element interaction and empowering) is the letter rank of your dragon. Does anyone know how this is calculated? The main thing I want to know is if you rank up faster by fighting stronger dragons, or if it's a simple # of wins calculus.
