      • JUNGLE 2 JUNGLE, a sometimes ponderous comedy, may have been a delightful soufflé in the original French version, but it falls flat as a pancake in the American translation. The often leaden humor may not bother kids, but parents may groan at some of the film's depictions of ethnic stereotypes.

  1. On his television program Siskel and Ebert, Ebert said Jungle 2 Jungle was not as bad as Little Indian, Big City because it was "far too mediocre to be terrible." He also described it as "lamebrained, boring, predictable, long, and slow", and added that while the French version was memorably bad, Jungle 2 Jungle was "just forgettable".

  2. Parents need to know that kids will see some ethnic stereotypes and violence, mainly slapstick and broadly comedic fighting. A cat is knocked unconscious. Russian Mafia thugs wave guns and knives, threatening the main characters, but scenes involving bad guys are cartoonish and played for humor.

  3. Mar 7, 1997 · The plot of "Jungle 2 Jungle" has been removed from a French film called "Little Indian, Big City". The operation was a failure and the patient dies. The only reason I am rating this movie at one star while "Little Indian, Big City" received zero stars is that "Jungle 2 Jungle" is too mediocre to deserve zero stars.

  4. The tagline is bad but I actually think the movie was fairly respectful, even mocking the New Yorkers for being so disdainful of someone from another culture. Reply reply notstephanie

  6. Although "Jungle 2 Jungle" features the typically high Disney production standards, it's offensive and disastrous. Tim Allen just coasts through playing commodities broker in New York City who tracks down his estranged wife to the Amazon jungle; there, he finds for the first time he has fathered a son.
