  1. Jul 4, 2024 · Exodus introduces us to Miriam, Aaron’s sister, where she emerges as a powerful woman of faith. A prophetess in her own right, her leadership and contributions significantly shaped the journey of God’s people out of Egypt. With a song of triumph at the Red Sea, she showed us what true faith and trust in God look like.

    • Esther. A woman who embodied courage and faith. A young Jewish girl who became queen of Persia, Esther played a pivotal role in saving her people from extermination.
    • Ruth. A model of selflessness and devotion. Ruth was a Moabite woman who decided to stay with her mother-in-law, Naomi, after her husband's death. Despite the cultural and social challenges, Ruth said, “Where you go, I will go; where you lodge, I will lodge; your people shall be my people, and your God my God.”
    • Deborah. A prophetess and the only female judge mentioned in the Bible. Her leadership provided peace and prosperity for the Israelites for 40 years. Deborah's story is exceptional among the women in the Bible because she held such a high-ranking position during a time when women's roles were generally confined to domestic spheres.
    • Mary. The mother of Jesus. A young woman when the angel Gabriel appeared to her and told her she would conceive a child by the Holy Spirit. Despite the potential social consequences, Mary responded with profound faith, saying, “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.”
    • Eve. She was the first woman in the Bible, she was introduced in the Book of Genesis. She is introduced in Genesis 2:21-23 when she is created from the rib of Adam as a companion and helper.
    • Sarah. Initially known as Sarai was the wife of Abram who is the patriarch of Judaism and Christianity. Their story is one of faith, resilience, and divine blessing.
    • Hagar. She was an Egyptian maidservant who was gifted to Sarah by Pharaoh. When Sarah became desperate to have a child, she suggested that Abraham should sleep with Hagar and through her, they would fulfill God’s promise.
    • Rebekah. She was the wife of Issac and the mother of Esau and Jacob. It should be noted that God chose Rebekah to be Issac’s wife because she was skilled in household tasks and was beautiful.

    An old prophetess, Anna had spent her life at the temple in Jerusalem, devoted to prayer and fasting. The book of Luke describes how the sight of young Jesus led her to evangelize about Him. Anna shows us that we must keep watchfor and be ready to praise God’s works.

    A cloth dealer in Thyatira, Lydia was a believer when she heard the Apostle Paul speak one Sabbath. But his words brought her to a deeper faith, and her house eventually became a meeting place for other followers. Lydia shows us that we are to grow in lovefor God and for others.

    Rebekah, the wife of Isaac, was childless until God blessed them with twin boys, Esau and Jacob. She asked the Lord why the babies were pushing against each other inside her, and Genesis details the surprising prophecy.   2. Oct 24, 2018 · How God Prepared Deborah to Lead. God delights in strong women. We in the church should, too. Our celebration of strong women in the body of Christ should be heard loud and clear. What needs to be heard as well is a joyful embracing of what the Bible celebrates as a strong woman. There’s no biblical formula for a strong, godly woman.

  3. Obedient – women of faith follows God’s will and instructions and through that, lives are saved. Generous – she is a given, always seeking to help others from her little, even if it means she will have to trust God to provide for her own needs. Hospitable – some women of faith possess the gift of hospitality.
