Jan 25, 2024 · Accessible housing is imperative to enabling independent living for many people with disabilities; yet, research consistently shows how people with disabilities often lack appropriate accessible housing and are more likely to experience unaffordable, insecure, and/or poor quality housing.
We urge the Special Rapporteur to recommend that Canada take the following steps to address the gaps in legislation, policy and programs that result in systemic housing discrimination and disadvantage for people with disabilities in Canada.
