Your subjective opinion, DOA2 Ultimate is considered by many to be the pinnacle of the franchise and DOA3.2 was the game that formally started the competitive scene of the franchise. And people still play those years more than the older games.
DOA2 counters can do some nasty damage, usually knockdown and are generally more dangerous. Character wise DOA1’s final boss is Radiou while DOA2’s is Tengu. New characters added were Leon, Ein, Helena, & Ayane made the base roster compared to her secret character status in the PS1 version of DOA.
