For the majority of Christian denominations, the Holy Spirit, or Holy Ghost, is believed to be the third divine person of the Trinity, [1] a triune god manifested as God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, each being God. [2][3][4] Nontrinitarian Christians, who reject the doctrine of the Trinity, differ significantly from ...
Therefore, not only does Scripture teach that the Holy Spirit was not created, but the historic teaching of the Christian church agrees. The Holy Spirit was not created because He is God. “Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is God, and yet they are not three Gods, but one God.”. The Holy Spirit is God eternal.

1. Being a person, the Holy Spirit has feelings. He can become sad or angry, and others can insult Him and blaspheme against Him (Is 63:10; Mt 12:31; Ac 7:51; Eph 4:30; Heb 10:29).
Yet they rebelled and grieved his Holy Spirit. So he turned and became their enemy and he himself fought against them. - Isaiah 63:10 And so I tell you, every kind of sin and slander can be forgiven, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. - Matthew 12:31 You stiff-necked people! Your hearts and ears are still uncircumcised. You are ...
The Holy Spirit was present during each stage of Christs life. When the angel appeared to Mary, the mother of Jesus, he declared: The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Therefore, the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God (Lk 1:35). Later on, at the baptism of Jesus, which marked the begi...
In Acts 1:7, Jesus points out what the disciples are not to know, but in verse 8, the emphasis is placed on what they are to know. With the adversative word but, Jesus brings the off-track attention of the disciples to the primary concern at hand: they would receive power. However, this depended on the Holy Spirits coming to them. Perhaps they did ...
In order to receive the power of God, one does not need a religious formula, but rather a relationship with a person. When a farmer grows crops, his desire is to receive its fruit, but his relationship is with the plant. It is the plant that the farmer sows, waters, and takes care of, even though he is waiting for the fruit. He knows that, without ...

- If you know the doctrine of the Trinity, you already know the most important things about the Holy Spirit. Christians confess that the one God eternally exists as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
- The Holy Spirit is God. The most obvious truth that emerges from locating the Holy Spirit in the Trinity is that the Spirit is fully God. He is not a mere impersonal force emanating from God, or a poetic way of talking about God in action, or a creature commissioned by God to do his work for him.
- The Holy Spirit is principally from the Father. God the Father’s plan, announced in the Old Testament, was to pour out his Spirit on all flesh (Joel 2).
- The Holy Spirit is also from the Son. Though the Spirit is principally from the Father, he has never, at any level, been apart from the Son. Just as the Father and Son together send the Spirit into salvation history (John 14:16, 14:26, 15:26, 16:7), so the Spirit in the divine life comes from both the Father and from the Son.
- The Holy Spirit is a unique person. First, we need to notice that the Holy Spirit is a unique person and not simply a power or an influence. He is spoken of as “He,” not as “it.”
- The Holy Spirit is one both with the Father and with the Son. Second, the Holy Spirit is one both with the Father and with the Son. In theological terms, we say that He is both co-equal and co-eternal.
- The Holy Spirit was the agent of creation. Third, the Holy Spirit was the agent of creation. In the account of creation at the very beginning of the Bible, we are told: “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.
- The Holy Spirit is the author of the new birth. Fourth, the Holy Spirit is the agent not only of creation, but also of God’s new creation in Christ. He is the author of the new birth.
The Holy Ghost is a Spirit Man, Probably a Son of Heavenly Father. Very little on the Holy Ghost has been canonized. D&C 130:22 (added to the D&C in 1867) is our best source; it tells us that the Holy Ghost is a spirit so that He can “dwell in us,” but even that verse has been modified from how it was originally written by Joseph Smith: [ii ...
