To apply to become a mentor, one must be a Clinical member, or already working in private practice as a certified nurse psychotherapist CNP/CPN or RP for a minimum of 5 years. Pay the membership fee of $250 and the one time mentorship or supervision fee application Fee: $250.00.
The CNP training program is for nurses to obtain the necessary skills, judgment, and experience to perform the controlled act of psychotherapy independently. The training is primarily based on the Cognitive Behavioural Therapy modality.
Only registrants of CRPO can use the protected title “Registered Psychotherapist,” along with the professional designation, RP. Only registrants of the six regulatory colleges that are permitted to provide psychotherapy services may call themselves psychotherapists.
