To reapply, submit an application and payment through your online account at the CBMT Login. The reapplication fee is $275.00. Payment will be a part of the application process. There is a waiting period of 30 days between exam attempts. There are no exceptions to this policy.

The credential Music Therapist - Board Certified (MT-BC) is granted by the Certification Board for Music Therapists (CBMT) to identify music therapists who have demonstrated the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to practice music therapy at the current level of the profession.
There are three components to being certified as a MTA: 1) successful internship evaluation, 2) passing the CBMT exam, and 3) a signed statement of adherence. Once you have your MTA certification, your first five-year continuing education cycle will begin.
Upon completion of the bachelor's degree, music therapists are eligible to sit for the national board certification exam to obtain the credential MT-BC (Music Therapist - Board Certified) which is necessary for professional practice.
