Feb 9, 2024 · On the older boxes you could change the color of the menu and guides. On the X1 there is no way to change it. We find the black background with small white text (that highlighted blue) very difficult to read even with perfect vision.
Press the xfinity button on the remote control. Highlight Settings (the gear icon) and press OK. Highlight Preferences and press OK. Highlight General and press OK. Using the right arrow button, highlight Background Darkness Level and press OK.

Stop Dark theme from automatic turn on
If you see a dark color scheme but didn’t turn on Dark theme, it could be that battery saver is on. When battery saver is on, Dark theme may turn on automatically. On some phones, battery saver turns on automatically when the phone’s battery charge falls below a certain percentage, like 15%. Turn off battery saver
Dark theme isn't available for all apps.
Important: When you turn on Dark theme for your device, or when battery saver is on, many apps will also use Dark theme.
To check an app’s theme settings:
• If Dark theme is on but an app is light, the app probably doesn’t offer Dark theme.
• If light theme is on but an app is dark, it could be:
• Dark theme is on for the app, but not for the whole device. To check, open the app’s settings and find “Theme” or “Display” options. Specifics vary by app.
When you change the color scheme, you can choose the wallpaper style and change the color of your tabs to a color scheme you like.
1. On your phone, go to the Settings app.
2. Tap Wallpaper & style.
• To change the color palette of your wallpaper, tap Wallpaper colors and select the color palette you like.
• To change the color of your tabs to a specific color, tap Basic colors and select the color you like.
