If you don't have the paired iPhone, you can erase your Apple Watch, but Activation Lock will remain.

•If you're using your Apple Watch with a transit card in the Wallet app, remove your transit card from your Apple Watch before you unpair.

    • First, you will want to find somewhere to do this with plenty of light. It’s also a good idea to have a tray on hand to hold the parts and a small bag to store the spare links.
    • Now, hold the watch in place on the wrist you want to wear it. Gather up the excess links on the underside and count out how many links you could stand to remove.
    • Double check this number before proceeding to the next step.
    • Divide this number by two so you know how many links you’re going to remove from each side of the clasp. You’ll want to keep this even so the clasp sits central.
    • Measuring and Setting Up any Watch. Measure the watch band to figure out how many links to remove. You want a little breathing room on your wrist, so measure the exact size of your wrist then leave at least 1 extra link in.
    • Round or Flat Cotter Pins. Separate the bracelet from the strap if it comes apart. With some metal watch straps, it is necessary to separate the bracelet before you can remove any links.
    • Screw Pins. Unscrew the pins where the two links connect. Use a 1 mm screwdriver to remove the required screw. Apply light pressure and turn the screwdriver in a counterclockwise motion until the screw pops out.
    • Stretch Band. Bend the edge flaps at the top of the link out. Place the watch face down on your work surface and bend the top edge flaps of the section you intend to remove.
  4. Remove and change bands. Hold down the band release button on your Apple Watch. Slide the band across to remove it, then slide the new band in. Never force a band into the slot. If you’re having trouble removing or inserting a band, hold down the band release button again.

  5. Jan 26, 2023 · You can do this by flipping your watch over; if you look carefully, there’s two thin buttons located on the underside of the display near each of the bands. Press and hold one of the buttons down,...
