How can I save on gas by buying groceries with Gas Rewards? As a for Uxae loyalty program member, you can earn Gas Rewards points for buying groceries at Albertsons, Safeway, ACME, or Shaw’s and Star Market grocery stores. Every 100 points can be redeemed for groceries and you can also redeem $0.10 cents off per gallon of gas. You get double the points when you purchase a gift card, which is great because some rewards programs don't even offer points when you buy a gift card.
I like the idea of using rewards for free groceries instead of gas, but gas discount is still a better deal. 1 reward is good for roughly a $1 free product, but worth $2.50 at the pump. If the rewards were a better deal in store, I'd go for the groceries.
