- Close the Blinds. Once you have gathered all of your cleaning supplies and the vacuum, lower horizontal blinds or draw vertical blinds over the window so they are fully extended.
- Vacuum Away Dust. Use a vacuum with a hose and upholstery brush attachment to easily dust the blinds. If you don't have an appropriate vacuum, you can also dust the blinds by wiping down each slat with a microfiber cloth.
- Inspect for Stains. After dusting, inspect the blinds for stains from splattered food, sticky hands, or insect droppings.
- Mix a Cleaning Solution. Place two cups of lukewarm water in a bowl and add a few drops (no more than 1/4 teaspoon) dishwashing liquid. Agitate the water with your fingers or a spoon to disperse the dishwashing liquid.

Feb 22, 2024 · Close Blinds and Wipe With a Cloth. Start by closing the blinds and gently wiping them down with a microfiber cloth, moving from the top of the blind down. (For horizontal blinds, wipe from side to side.) It helps to hold the bottom of the blind in your other hand so it's pulled out from the window.

Dip a sponge in the solution and wipe down each slat. Finish by wiping each slat again with a sponge dampened in fresh, clean water. Let the blinds air-dry or wipe them dry them with a cloth. To clean mini-blinds, use the 50/50 solution and put a clean sock over your hand. Dip the sock in the solution and wipe each slat.
