How to draw lines of symmetry. In order to draw lines of symmetry: Locate the centre of the 2D shape. Use a ruler to visualise a horizontal and/or vertical line of symmetry through the centre of the shape. Continue to rotate the ruler around 180 degrees over the centre point to cover all sides and vertices.
