Placing blocks is a huge part of Minecraft. Unfortunately, it's not always intuitive how certain blocks will be placed. Here is a guide to help you learn to place those tricky blocks.
Select in your hotbar the block you want to place.
If all 6 sides of the block are the same, simply right-click to place your block where you want it.
Select in your hotbar the block you want to place.
If the 4 sides of the block are the same, but the top (and possibly bottom) are different, the block might be vertically-locked.
This means the block can only be placed with the top and bottom facing up and down.
Place your block by right-clicking, being sure you know which sides are going to be showing.
Select in your hotbar the block you want to place.
If the block has 1 side that interacts with the environment, it might be player-oriented.
Examples are logs or quartz pillars.
Stand so that the part that interacts with the environment (which will always appear facing you) will be placed the direction you want.
If you want something to face up or down, you might have to pillar up or dig down.
Right-click to place your block.
In vanilla Minecraft, if you hold right-click with blocks, the game will place a block every 4 ticks. This means that if you try to place a row of blocks, you might miss some blocks or place too many. This mod fixes both problems, as seen in the GIF below. You can set a keybind to toggle this mod on or off.
Pro Placeroverhauls the block placing logic to mimic the behavior on Bedrock Edition, making it a whole lot easier and faster to use. 📚 Contents: In vanilla Minecraft when holding down the button for placing blocks the game tries to place a block every 4 game ticks, no matter what. This very often leads to unwanted gaps or double placing.

May 26, 2024 · Faster Block Placement. This mod is like Accurate Block Placement Reborn but for Forge. It removes the 4-tick delay induced by vanilla Minecraft. For example, if you're moving fast and trying to place a line of blocks, you will miss some blocks and create gaps in your line. With this mod enabled, those gaps will mostly be gone.
