The target score for winning the game is 32. Each person is dealt 10 cards. Bid and play as in the general rules; bids are any number of tricks from 1 to 10 in a suit or "no trump". A bid of 10 is called "shooting the moon" and is worth 16 points rather than 10, won or lost. Above this is a bid to "shoot the moon alone".
Bid Euchre is typically played 2v2 and begins with each player bidding how many tricks they think their team can take, starting with the player to the left of the dealer and continuing clockwise. Each player must bid higher than the highest bid so far or pass if they find it too risky. Bidding starts at a minimum level (based on the rule options).
The game uses the same cards as euchre: the 10, J, Q, K, and A of each suit (three players), with lower cards (9, 8, 7, etc.) added if necessary for more players. The first hand, the dealer is chosen at random, then the deal proceeds clockwise. Each hand, one suit is trump; trump cards are higher than non-trump.
