He bought it at the very beginning of the decade, most likely in June 1970. While we’re not completely certain about its use in the studio, the guitar was used for some live shows.

Those technologies were not afforded to Page in the late ‘60s. The search then was always for more sustain and a little more gain.

Page acquired his Martin D-28 in 1970 and it became his go-to acoustic Jimmy’s other guitars. Jimmy used other guitars in Zep beyond the three main electrics we’ve covered. His flat-top acoustics weren’t often seen in performances, but of course he used them to good effect in the studio.
