I would guess that a map can support X number of PMC's and that same number in player scavs. Say if a instance had max slots at 24, 12 PMC's at the start, 6 die in the next 5 minutes, there are now 18 possible spawns (minus anyone who already has a slot/spawned) for player scavs in this instance.

There are multiple spawn locations per area that aren't always used but have a chance of spawning a pmc there. The game will usually avoid spawning a 5 man + a solo on the big red side. So usually you won't be spawned up against a 4-5 man stack to deal with on game start.
Dec 23, 2017 · PScavs can spawn from about 5 mins in. after the server has stopped accepting PMCs essentially. so as players die/leave you can get more and more scavs spawn up to the maximum allowed. you'll see a lot more AI Scavs late raid for this reason. they also generally have better gear.

Jun 25, 2024 · No, PMC spawns are not all simultaneous in Escape from Tarkov. Usually, PMC players will spawn within the first 5-10 minutes of the round starting, depending on the map. Player scavs, on the other hand, spawn later in the raid, sometimes even up to 5 minutes before the round ends.
Also, for all maps other Factory, I am sure there is only one PMC spawn timing, one player scav wave and multiple npc scav waves.
Jun 15, 2021 · Not all bot Scavs spawn at the start of the raid (some are always present), they'll slowly spawn in through the first ten minutes of the raid into a set of predetermined locations. This is done to prevent spawnkilling while your PMC loads into the game.
