Mar 10, 2022 · Since Sept. 28, 2021, there have been 430 jurisdictional decisions by the Ohio Supreme Court. These jurisdictionals break down into 62.6% criminal (269 cases) and 37.4% civil (161 cases). Of those 430 discretionary appeals, 9.53% (41 cases) have been accepted.
Jan 19, 2022 · Between Sept. 28 and Dec. 28, 2021, the Supreme Court announced decisions on 290 jurisdictionals. These broke down to 110 civil cases (38%) and 180 criminal cases (62%). The Supreme Court accepted 25 of the cases. We’ll get into the actual percentages and breakdown of the acceptances in a later post.

In 2019, a total of 2,875,430 incoming cases were reported across Ohio’s courts, a decrease of 4.6 percent from 2018. Other than probate courts, which experienced a 1-percent increase, declines from 2018 were seen in all other court types.
