The game is best played between 3 to 6 players. For this, you need only one standard deck of 52 playing cards with no Joker. However, the game can also be played between 2-10 players. In case the number of players is more than 6, it is advisable to use two 52-card decks for the game.
The first player plays one to four cards (or one to eight with two decks) face down in the centre of the table. They declare how many cards they have played and what the cards are. The next player must then play one or more cards that are one higher or lower than the cards previously declared.
