There are over five hundred references to the Old Testament in the Book of Revelation. The following is a list of such references, but it makes no claim to being exhaustive or complete. Some of these references back to the Old Testament do speak of the very same thing as the Revelation.

It is observed that the book of Revelation contains citations from, or allusions to, 28 of the 39 books of the OT. There are 505 such citations and allusions, some 325 of which are to the prophetic books of the OT – Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and Daniel in particular.

The allusions are listed in the order they appear in the Book of Revelation. Where the same allusion from the OT is used in more than one place in the Book of Revelation, the list includes it at its first occurrence, together with a list of the other references where it is used.
Dec 31, 2001 · Of the 404 verses in the book of Revelation, seemingly 278 of them make some allusion to the Old Testament. That is 68.8% of the verses! And some of these verses contain two, or even three, allusions to the Old Testament.
It begins and ends with the Lord Jesus at the center of things (1:13; 22:1-5). It contains more Old Testament references than any other New Testament book. H. B. Swete observes: “Of the 404 verses in Revelation, no less than 278 contain references to the Old Testament.” 13.
The Book of Revelation has no direct quotations from the Old Testament, but it has about 550 references back to the Old Testament. The majority of the things found in the first twenty chapters of the Book of Revelation are found elsewhere in the Old Testament. Only the last two chapters deal with things totally new.
