This new residence could house 120 students who shared six-bed dormitories. Ninety students from first to sixth grade attended the school. Older students lived in the dormitories but took a bus to attend public school in Fort Frances. In spite of all these renovations, however, a lack of boarders would see the student housing shut down in 1974.

Oct 10, 2012 · Until the 1950s, holidays for many of the students included periods of work and play at the school. Only from the 1960s on did the schools routinely send children home for holidays.
