Either you allocated too much ram (never go above 8gb) or you have a memory leak. No modpack should use that much ram, let alone one with only 100 mods. Do install foamfix or ferritecore (depending on your version) to get that ram usage down.
I recommend atleast 10-16 for the server, that amount on 1.16 is hard. I'd say 8 gb is probably the best you can do, but 6 can probably handle it well enough. Well i would reccomend 8 honestly. I hosted Better Minecraft Plus on a 7GB server and it was more than capable of handling it.
How much memory do you have in total? If you allocate too much memory the game becomes extremely unstable since you're using all the ram possible. I have a laptop with 8 gb in total, and can run up to 200 mods with only 3-4 gb.
Nov 23, 2015 · Is 14~15GB of RAM enough for 400 mods? Some mods are way small and they only add in a few items, but a few are large, like OreSpawn, Advent of Ascension, Ars Magica 2 etc. RAM seems to be the main factor here, as I'm fine with playing at lowest graphic settings.
May 19, 2024 · How much RAM you need depends on how many players will be using your server and how big the world is. We recommend at least 8GB RAM for base All the Mods 8 servers. Having more than 5 people in a heavily modded world at once (especially with larger worlds) may require more for optimal performance.

Nov 19, 2023 · At the very least, it is recommended to have a minimum of 4GB of RAM allocated to running All The Mods 8. This will provide a basic level of performance and allow you to play with a small number of mods without experiencing significant lag or crashes.

Dec 9, 2018 · I run 250+ mods with a 50 min load time (Lots of high impact mods so load time may vary depending on the mods you have), so i guess depends on how patient you are ;P. Edit: Of course it also depends on if you have a potato for a PC, there is a limit to how many you can load depending on how much RAM you have.
