    Christmas is a major expenditure for many Americans. According to the latest data from the National Retail Federation (NRF), Americans spend an average of $997.73each Christmas. That’s approximately the same as the median pre-tax weekly salary of $1,001. Put another way, the average American spends about a week’s salary on Christmas gifts annually....
