Each year, the Sir Isaac Newton Contest (SIN) Scholarship is awarded to the top-scoring incoming student pursuing an honours degree, either in the regular or co-operative programs, in the Department of Physics & Astronomy at the University of Waterloo. This entrance scholarship provides up to $5,000 in year 1, and up to $1,000 in years 2 to 4.
So I've recently taken the SIN contest... I was just wondering what types of prizes/recognition are possible. I am aware that there are books for the top 150 competitors, but. Is there an honour roll/higher tier prizes, etc.?
Scholarships! For students starting in September 2025, an award valued at $1,000 will be provided to eligible students entering their first year of a full-time undergraduate degree program in the Faculty of Science (excluding Aviation, Optometry, and Pharmacy) who have completed the Sir Isaac Newton Exam or Chem13 News Exam in 2025.
