You should assume BBC TVL Nazis will be round but just don't answer the door or let a TV be seen and they can't do much at all except bang on your doors and windows and peer through.
At this point, anyone making a case for keeping the license fee is scoring an own goal. By saying "Keep the license fee" they are also saying that the BBC won't make as much money if it goes subscription because not as many people will pay for it. Proving the point that the license fee is an unfair tax on people who don't use BBC services.

Feb 28, 2024 · Three quarters (76%) of pensioners say the BBC TV licence payment does not provide good value for money ahead of the April 1 price hike, according to a survey conducted by Broadband Genie. This Spring the government will increase the BBC TV licence fee by 6.7% — in line with inflation — bringing the cost per year to £169.50.
