Feb 13, 2019 · Here is a simple trick to get it all align to one axis. 1 Go into edit mode by pressing the Tab key. 2. Select the vertices, edges or faces you wish to align. 3. Press S Scale and then press either X, Y or Z (base on the axis you want to flatten the selection) and then 0. This sets the selection to move to 0 hence flattening the surface.

Jun 11, 2015 · $\begingroup$ This one works to flatten any surface even on angles, while the others above this post only seem to work when directly on the ground. Maybe I couldn't figure out the others but this one solved my issue and is great for cleaning a messy mesh while retaining rotations.
