Buena Vista Park is located on the north bank of the river, adjacent to Sir Wilfred Laurier Park and Hawrelak Park. Buena Vista means “beautiful view” in Spanish and is home to a large off-leash area and numerous multi-use trails.

The park is not fenced but it is located away from any roads so there is less hazards to man and animal. There are level, graveled trails and one paved trail so mobility access is good. This park is located directly across from the Edmonton Valley Zoo so it can easily be found.

Buena Vista Park Riverside and Neighbourhood Hike. Experience this 6.1-mile loop trail near Edmonton, Alberta. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 2 h 20 min to complete. This is a popular trail for birding, hiking, and running, but you can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of day.

Oct. 5, 2016. One of the best off leash dog parks in the city. Lots of river valley to explore, everything from wide paved paths to winding forest trails. There's good access to the river and a large, open field for playing.
