Buena Vista is a prekindergarten to Grade 8 school, open to all. We serve the Buena Vista, Exhibition and Nutana neighbourhoods. In 2021, Buena Vista became the first public school in Saskatoon to offer an outdoor nature-based learning program from prekindergarten to Grade 1.
The goal of Buena Vista School is to provide quality opportunities for learning within a caring, safe and culturally sensitive environment. We value the uniqueness of our students and work hard to ensure that the individual learning needs of our students are met.
Jun 9, 2023 · Starting this fall, Buena Vista School will be one of 12 new Saskatoon Public Schools to offer all-day kindergarten. There are currently 13 Saskatoon Public Schools that offer the option.
The School is Built: 1912. In 1911 the Public School Board bought an entire city block on Lorne Avenue to build a public school. The price paid was $10,000. While the school was being built classes for students began in a frame building across the street, with 150 pupils in two shifts of 75 each.
The Buena Vista Public School is operated out of the 100-year-old building on Lorne Street, affectionately known as the “castle school.”
Lumsden High School. Lumsden High School is a grade 9-12 facility with full service programming and a wide variety of electives offered based on student interest. Students from Lumsden, Regina Beach, Bethune, Craven, Grand Coulee, Pense, and surrounding rural areas all attend Lumsden High School.
