While most of it is unnecessary to the central gameplay, it can be read and understood as a means to make the world feel more alive and give bosses and items more purpose. Most of the lore is a heavy work-in-progress, and as such, information shown here is prone to change.

As I'm sure many of you are aware, Calamity's lore is going through a rewrite since the exodus, and is being made by mostly different people. However, I've seen much confusion about the new lore outside of Calamity's Discord and even in it.

As of now, we're basically fixing everything currently in-game to match the new rewritten lore, or at least not contradict it. We're actually almost done with this! Pretty much all that remains is rewriting Draedon's logs which I'm halfway done with.

Lore items are items with a piece of lore written into them, and are dropped by their respective boss on their first kill. They are also able to be crafted using the boss's respective trophy. The descriptions of these items are insights and commentary on both locations the player has been to and bosses the player has slain. All lore items initially...
Certain items contain lore in their descriptions, hinting at or stating pieces of the overarching story. Dedicated contentis usually excluded from this list.
Some vanilla Town NPCdialogue also hints at characters or events in the mod's lore. The mod's own Town NPCs also have dialogue centered around their own roles in the lore.
The official lore of Terraria does not influence the Calamity Mod lore and it is treated as a separate canon.Dedicated content and content/changes in the Get fixed boiseed are not considered canon.The Bestiary, which provides in-universe knowledge about most of the mod's NPCs.Draedon's Logs, which give additional insight into the mod's world from the perspective of Draedon.This update also made many changes to the lore that appears in the game, mostly through the Lore items and dialogue from the Sea King.

The lore is not finished yet, and boss rush as well as the rock did not get their rewrite yet. Xeroc did not create the rock in the new lore.
