Fletch is Chevy Chase's best movie, IMO. He is hilarious in this movie and everyone else in it also turns in a solid performance. And it's just a fun story about an investigation.
If you've seen Fired Up (2009), I think Eric Christian Olsen would be a really good pick. He has amazing comedic timing and can pull off fast-paced quips in a similar fashion to Chevy. Jason Sudeikis could be a good choice also.

The problem with “Fletch” is that the central performance is an anthology of Chevy Chase mannerisms in search of a character. Other elements in the movie are pretty good: the supporting characters, the ingenious plot, the unexpected locations.
