If I want to listen to DnB music with a heavier spin, Machine Girl is absolutely my choice. You even have other projects if you want maybe a softer style. And though MG Ultra, as well as their discography overall, has tracks I’d rather skip, their music is still amazing, and MG Ultra is no exception.
The dystopian slant of the album – pulling references from anime, sci-fi author Philip K Dick, and Carl Jung – should come as no surprise to longtime Machine Girl fans. That said, Stephenson regards it as a “reboot” of sorts, a “new beginning” for the project as it enters a new era.
Without stirring controversy, what's your guys' tier list for Machine Girl's albums/other releases look like? Might be missing a few but here's mine:
Machine Girl is finally back with a new album. It has been 4 years since their last album and I really can't wait to hear what they made this time. Hearing the singles I was so hyped but also a bit worried.
This is so mind-melting and genuinely insanely impressive. I'm familiar with Machine Girl, but I didn't expect them to sound like they were hyped up on sugar for 40 minutes. It's the happiest Digital Hardcore album I've ever heard, and I love that.
