   Mostly because the 1.8.9 combat system is to me (and most people) the most fun way to play minecraft. Hypixel (the biggest minecraft server) is exclusively 1.8.9 pvp mechanisms. People don't only like 1.8 pvp because of spam clicking. Saying that is not fair both towards the learning curve that pvp has and the technique you need to be good.

   Jan 7, 2022 · The topic of PvP in Minecraft has died down a bit due to DSMP and other popular SMPs like LifeSteal etc. But 1.9 massively changed how PvP works I came from 1.17 and I can agree the PvP is different by a lot! Although 1.8 is still the most popular Minecraft version by searches etc its not the largest on player base.
