With Windows 10 Edition, you can crossplay with people using mobile and console edition of Minecraft too. It just depends on what you want. If a lot of your friends have the Windows 10 Edition, then you can get that so you can play with them more. I personally like Java because my friends have that version and the type and amount of server it has.
