Oct 29, 2008 · “RocknRolla” (which is how they say “rock and roller” in the East End) isn’t as jammed with visual pyrotechnics as Ritchie’s “Lock, Stock and Smoking Barrel” (1998), but that’s OK, because with anything more happening, the movie could induce motion sickness.
RockNRolla isn't the best, but I enjoyed it. I prefer Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. Snatch is good, too. I am partial to some of the weirder Richie movies like Revolver, so I might be easier on RockNRolla than others. Guy Ritchie has always been suuuuuper hit or miss for me.

The cast is amazing, Gerard Butler gives a formidable performance, Thandie Newton also very good, Tom Wilkinson flawless as always and the secondary roles from Toby Kebbell (Johnny Quid), Idris Elba (Mumbles) and Mark Strong (Archie) gave the movie a very good support.
