Feb 25, 2020 · As a beginner in Escape From Tarkov, you should be playing on two maps – Customs and Interchange. These two maps provide the best beginner experience due to their simplicity and ease of extraction. Below are more detailed outlines for each of these maps, including common looting areas, valuable keys, and overall tips for each map.
- Shoreline. Despite the quests of Customs and the loot of Interchange I find Shoreline to be the best Tarkov map for beginners looking to learn the game on their PMC character.
- Interchange. Offering a larger map and significantly more loot Interchange can be a profitable map for both PMC and Scav runs once mastered. The size and detail of the map does add in significant complexity for new players but by focusing on key areas on the lower side of PMC traffic you can still have a successful and profitable raid making it a Tarkov best map for beginners.
- Customs. Ranked number three on my recommendation for Tarkov beginner maps is Customs, an industrial themed map with difficult choke points for new players.
It’s regarded as the smallest map in the game thus you have to learn the least to truly understand the map. It’s way less daunting getting lost in a small map like factory than it is for a large map like woods. I did the same when I was new too. I chose to learn the smallest map first because it was less stuff to remember extract wise.
Watch a youtube guide and find a map if you are interested in this. There is an AI boss on this map named Sanitar, he spawns at health resorth, cottages and bank. These locations are considered hotspots. Sanitar has 2-3 bodyguards and they can be very hard to beat for new players. Their reaction time and aim is insane.
- Interchange. Interchange is another easy-to-navigate map; however, there aren't many real landmarks for you to loot outside of the high-traffic area that is the ULTRA shopping mall.
- Shoreline. As long as you avoid the health resort, this map is ideal for beginners. For your information, the health resort is in the very centre of the map, so avoiding it is quite doable.
- Customs. To start this list off, we will take a look at Customs. While definitely not the wisest choice for absolute newbies, this map is still brilliant.
