Jul 24, 2023 · Right now the only advantage of using the Presto card is the student and senior fares, the fact that TTC only takes Presto, and that the other GTA bus systems charge you cash price for using credit or debit if you are not transferring to/from GO.
So although I had heard about the PRESTO transit fare card system I hadn’t ever considered buying one because I didn’t think it was worth it: until recently. Why Would a Non-Commuter Buy a PRESTO card? What swayed me to buy a PRESTO card was its use for GO Transit.

May 14, 2012 · It'll bump you up to monthly passes automatically if it's cheaper. Some transit systems (GO at least) will give you loyalty discounts even if you don't qualify for a monthly pass, which PRESTO will figure out automatically. Also, PRESTO will generate tax records for you, which is quite handy.
Mar 24, 2024 · Yes, you save with the card, however the One Fare program does not work when transferring from UPX to TTC. You can buy and load a card at the Presto vending machines in TTC stations and the UPX station. A Canadian address is not required.

Would it be worthwhile to purchase a PRESTO Card, because we plan to purchase Day Passes for Toronto and Ottawa? Would one recommend it in terms of ease of use and savings, if any? Thanks in advance.
7 years ago. If you plan to stay downtown Toronto and buy a day pass, then there's no point in buying the Presto card. Presto is meant for people who travel in the Greater Toronto Area. The day pass will give you unlimited rides for the day.
To break it down: 1 token/fare costs: $3. 1 day pass costs: $12.50. You need to make a minimum of 3 trips on the weekend or 5 trips on a weekday to make the pass worth it. So all in all, skip over Presto and stick to a day pass if you plan to travel only within downtown for a couple of days.
1.) Is the Presto card worth to buy for 3-4 Days in Toronto? Or single ticket better? As $6 is not refund for buy presto card. 2.) Does the single ticket have 2 hours time frame to transit any TCC subway and street car? 2.) Which train line (TCC/GoTrain) is more convenient and cheap to travel around the attractions?
