Purdue Global IS reputable, it IS part of the Purdue University family, it IS a good program, the degree IS respected. I am a second year student who has networked with many graduates that are doing quite well.
Purdue is among the best engineering schools in the world. US News is basically a Buzzfeed slideshow. Don't base a major decision, 4 years of your life, and 6 figures of someone's money on it. I'll summarize it this way: You can't get a definitively better engineering education anywhere else.
