If not, then Bedrock is your way to go, since it can be played from anywhere. If you have access to Java at all times then there is no reason to play bedrock. Apart from crossplay, Bedrock doesn't offer any advantages over Java at all. (edit: okay, Bedrock does have better out of the box performance)

Bedrock is better by miles. Like we can make worlds and our friends can easily join. We don’t need to expend hours creating servers to play together. So much smoother. Gameplay and pvp skills on bedrock is so much better than Java. I watched many YouTubers play in Java and they look noob.
Stop this fight! Bedrock isn't better than Java, neither is it vice versa. I prefer Java, but I won't let it stop others from liking Bedrock. Bedrock is also good, as it can easily run on low performance devices and is easy to do multiplayer. The things Java is good for is that you can change versions, there are clients and isn't money driven.
Because Bedrock doesn’t have as many crazy stuff as Java. Java has mods and shaders. While Bedrock has only resource packs. In my opinion Java and Bedrock and great in their own way. Like mods? Get Java. Want just smoother performance? Get Bedrock
Jul 25, 2019 · Performance: Better than java. -Mods: Limited support for add-ons (which have less capabilities than mods in Java), some are paid for in the store and some are free. -Offline multiplayer: Split screen (Xbox). -Online multiplayer: Any game is joinable. Servers can be made, some exist but not as many as Java.
Jan 21, 2022 · - Player Population - One of the more popular Bedrock servers, Mineplex, seems like it averages about 10k or so players, meanwhile the most popular Java server, Hypixel, probably gets anywhere 30-50k + daily. Obviously, you don't need that many players to have a server feel alive, but Java is clearly the more popular version of the game.
Oct 2, 2019 · I'll give you that Bedrock Edition has a better system to play with friends and (though you didn't say it) better combat, however, Java Edition trumps Bedrock in pretty much everything else: -Java Edition runs WAY smoother than Bedrock; Bedrock is EXTREMELY laggy -You can actually play servers, rather than only having access to a few.
May 25, 2021 · Java Pros: Runs better, modding, better servers, better red stone. Better crafting recipes. Cons: Harder to run than bedrock, pc only, different combat mechanics, may be harder for first time Java players. So I think it's more it's better for certain peoples preferences.
