Both Atari VCS and Nintendo Switch have their pros and cons, but which is better?
I'm sure Atari is in no position to price it any cheaper, but for everyday folks who aren't diehard Atari fans the Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series S, and PS5 Digital are all a far better value. However, ignoring the price point, the VCS console is a great piece of hardware.

Anyhow, straight from Atari: "Atari VCS is focused on showcasing creative games from independent developers and small to mid-sized studios, to new audiences." Also, the Atari VCS Vault is filled with 100% free Atari licensed games. Just because you are able to play them elsewhere, doesn't mean they own the rights to them. These are Atari games.
The VCS is not a particularly good deal at full price. I think being half off it's a lot more of a decent deal. At full price, I'd typically say that if you are really into Atari, it's worth the buy because it's a cool system.
