Jul 3, 2024 · For serious software I would disagree, the best productivity programs came out in the ST's twilight years, after the games had gone. Papyrus, Twist, Texel, Photoline, Calamus SL, a host of 3D renderers, and not to mention Magic, Jinnee, Thing, NVDI etc all came out or got major upgrades after Atari had lost interest and really blew the early applications away.
Mar 21, 2021 · The ST family includes the ST, STm, STf, STfm, and Mega models. There normally is no Blitter, maximum TOS seems to be 1.40, and RAM is typically made up of DIP chips. It seems like a 520 STfm or 1040 STfm are the ideal machines here. RAM upgrades are possible whereas something like the 520 STm is stuck at 512 kB.
