Jan 16, 2018 · Two of these are Memphis, Tennessee Census, 1869 (3rd Ward), 1897 (Nashville: Tennessee State Library and Archives) and Marshall County, Tennessee Agricultural Census, 1857 (Nashville: Tennessee State Library and Archives). Both have been microfilmed and are available at the Tennessee State Library and Archives (TSLA) and FHL.
This database contains indexes to the Tennessee (U.S.A.) portions of the 1810-1860 U.S. Federal Censuses as well as indexes to the 1840 Pensioners List, the 1860 Slave Schedule, the 1890 Veteran's Schedule, 1891 Voters List, and other early censuses.
Some counties and cities also took their own census records. For example, in 1869 the 3rd Ward of Memphis was enumerated. There is also an 1857 Tennessee Agricultural Census available. Both can be found on microfilm at the FHL and the Tennessee State Library and Archives (TSLA).
