This document is not a substitute for Ohio’s Learning Standards and Model Curriculum for Science. It is essential that the full Content Elaborations, Nature of Science, Science and Engineering Practices and Cognitive Demands, including the sample Visions into Practice, be incorporated into instruction.
Mar 4, 2022 · Educators in local school districts choose their own curriculum. That means they plan the instruction and select the teaching techniques, textbooks and other materials for their students that will help them gain the knowledge and skills called for in Ohio’s Learning Standards.
Ohio’s Learning Progressions companion document includes the Kindergarten, First and Second grade standards that are not part of Ohio’s Learning Standards- Extended. As a reminder, there are no extended standards for grades K-2, however, the learning progressions outline essential skills that are part of each standard.
Science Standards. Pursuant to regulations set forth by the Ohio Department of Education and Green Local Schools Board of Education Policy 2220, Adoption of Courses of Study, science instruction in the district is conducted in accordance with Ohio's Learning Standards in Science.
