As it currently stands, it is not comprehensive enough to be used in a college music theory sequence where the primary audience is music majors. I am a college music student and I have recently finished my undergrad theory/aural skills sequence. This sequence covered common practice theory and harmony, mostly. However, I don’t really want to stop Taking theory. My theory professor is willing to do an independent study for theory with me, but I’m not really sure what to do.

Sep 2, 2020 · The undergraduate music curriculum has been the subject of ongoing discussion with regards to technology, repertoire, pedagogy, and purpose. This article contributes to this continuing conversation by presenting a case study of a restructured music theory sequence at a small liberal arts college.
