Jul 9, 2011 · This confirmed that at least one of my oxygen sensors was bad (bad mileage). Is it good practice to replace both at once, or only the bad one? I searched a little, but did not find a thread on which terminals of the diagnostic port to test their actual output.
Oct 26, 2017 · Once the emissions are out of the engine and the first/upstream cat determines how to control the engine, the only thing left for the second/downstream sensor to do is determine whether the cat did its job on the emissions.

Like other engine sensors, there’s no need to replace an oxygen sensor as long as it is working properly and accurately reading the oxygen content of the exhaust.
