The game is good even if youre not a fan of the series. Honestly it is making me a fan, and I started listening to harry potter while at work lol. And now wanna watch the movies. Its got a LOTR shadow of war type feel to it with its combat, but with wands/magic. Feels like a better version of an ubisoft RPG game.

But the only experience i've had with Harry Potter is reading the philosopher's stone, and while it was interesting and a bit cool, i never really got through the thing.
I'm not much of a Harry Potter fan, but this game is absolutely great. the room of requirement and animal taming/enclosure building is really great and more fun than it should be. I'd say get it. The general consensus I've seen is that it's a decent but somewhat generic open world game.

Most of the reviews are written with the end note 'The RPG that Potter fans have been waiting for'. Take that as you will. I'd personally read through the IGN review and watch a few gameplay videos to get a feel for it. If you're not a huge Potter fan, the game is 7/10. It's still good, but it's for fans of the franchise first and foremost.
