  2. Day 2 Universal Itinerary. Morning. Arrive at Universal Studios Hollywood for park opening. Start your day with popular attractions in The Upper Lot with typically long wait times, such as Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey (we went twice back to back on Day 2), Flight of the Hippograph, and The Simpsons Ride.

  3. This guide is really helpful for deciding whether or not to purchase it. Plan to arrive at the Universal Studios Hollywood parking structure about 30-40 minutes before opening time. You’ll need to wait in line to pay, park and then walk through CityWalk. That process took us 25 minutes on an extremely quiet day.

    • Buy Tickets in Advance. While it is always an option to show up the theme park day of and buy admissions right there, this is not your best bet for a couple of reasons.
    • Pick the Perfect Day(s) to Go. Just like any other amusement park, there are days when Universal Hollywood Studios is almost guaranteed to be completely packed with people.
    • The Early Bird Gets the Worm. Get to the park early (at least thirty minutes) and make sure you include time to park. The earlier you get to the park, the closer to the front of the admissions line you will be and the quicker you will get in to start your day, ahead of the crowds.
    • Universal Express Passes. Getting a Universal Express Pass can save you lots of time and allow you to make the most out of your day. It’s kind of like Disney’s Genie+ system.
