As of the 2020 census, the population was 32,730.[3] The county seatand only incorporated city is Susanville.[4] Lassen County comprises the Susanville, California, micropolitan statistical area.
Susanville’s population is approximately 15,321 (2018 Census Projections), representing approximately 50% of Lassen County. The 2018 U.S. Census ethnic breakdown of the City’s population shows approximately 62% Caucasian, 11% African American, 4% Native American, 3% Asian/Native Hawaiian/Other Pacific Islander and 20% 2 or more or other races.
