New World’s last major update for 2022 sees the return of the Winter Convergence Festival with some new changes and additions. Alongside the return of this event is some new content, including a new Heartrune and a new Expedition.

New World Update 1.8.1 rolled out on January 10th. This update marks the end of the Winter Convergence Festival and includes a variety of fixes to rewards, loot, and other features in the game. Economy and progression will see improvements, with fast travel costs now being correct when traveling to a settlement.

Jan 12, 2023 · New World’s Winter Convergence Festival has officially come to an end following the release of Update 1.8.1 earlier this week.While the update doesn’t come with new content, it does fix several known issues in the open world MMORPG including incorrect fast travel costs, incompatible Winter Convergence Life Staff perks, and Outpost Rush crashing, among others.
