"Vacuum-insulated tumblers or bottles feature a double wall, or two-layer construction—oftentimes made of stainless steel," says Graham Nearn, Stanley’s Vice President of Product Creation and Design. "All air is removed from between the two layers of the bottle to create a vacuum." This feature is why this kind of tumbler is able to keep beverages at the preferred temperature for an extended period of time.
Can you put oatmeal and other hot foods in an insulated tumbler?
Some tumblers are specifically made to keep eats and drinks hot or cold. A key component to check for is if the product’s interior is stainless steel. If not, it is unlikely to be able to maintain items like oatmeal or soup at a food-safe temperature.
